The propensity for rioting in this country

Because the people who are likely to riot are probably still going about their lives as normal whilst the government try to portray the image they are still in control and the police walk a tight rope between enforcing and antagonising. That’s why there won’t be a tough crack down because if 68 million people decide they’ve had enough and push back there’s nothing the government or police can do. Listen to the language the government are using, it’s all about how the majority are complying etc, they are trying to shame people into compliance rather than beating them with a big stick and risk people getting their own big sticks. The police were told early on that they can’t be too tough on people otherwise there will be civil unrest, there’s millions of angry and frustrated people and it only takes a spark.
You'd think that starving school children would be the spark wouldn't you?

Is pretty low isn’t it?

Think about it: all the billions spent on a failed track and trace system
Muddle, too slow and ineffective lockdowns killing us.
Brexit making us poorer and a laughing stock
The entire school meals fiasco, from the initial refusals to the private contractors stealing all the money.
Lies, corruption and incompetence on a world beating scale. Imagine if the french government had been like this? The cabinet would be hanging from lampposts in the champs elyse by now.

Is this an over reaction or is the cabinet as bad as it seems?

please refrain from personal comments about the last election
Go on then you start one off and we'll join in.

'What do we want'
'Less cars on the M4 and anyone who dares go out during a lockdown birched'
'When do we want it'
'NOW'

Very clever.

How do you feel about the corruption in the ruling party? These are YOUR taxes they are giving to their mates remember.

They're a shambles and bent as a nine bob note.

No point rioting though as there are no shops left to loot.

Thankfully I never voted for them.

If it was on XBox or PS I think there would be more appetite to riot. "The Poll Tax Riots 2021"- Game developers all over this!

Exactly.

If you could riot from the comfort of your own home, sat in your wabs with headphones on then I think there would be carnage up and down the country (or at least in teenage boys bedrooms).

Not in this country. Takeaways closing and non essential deliveries being suspended would have more media coverage and stir the masses into action.

There's no money to be made out of poor kids, and as we know from posters on here, it's all about what they perceive as the economy.

That’s true. Maybe we can get kfc to shut down and blame the government? That’ll slice things up.

do you not think if labour were in power during this, that these "contracts" would find their way to donators and "mates" of the labour cabinet? we would have the same uproar just against different people and companies

No, actually I don’t think that. Not on this scale. The track and trace one is massive

Howay man.

Don't confuse us potential rioters with stuff like this.

I'm waiting for Small town to say when & where and I'll be there with my placard 'Lockdowns are Cack'

No, I don't. More would be made of the more capable and efficient public sector rather than handing out bursting envelopes to the nearest whelk stall holder.

best hope we get an unbiased and fair enquiry into the handling of the whole thing then. must agree the track and trace has been a disgrace, especially when it turned out they were using an old version of excel to log numbers.

Sure it would....

It would be spent on committees, quangos and increasing the number of managers under Labour instead.

I mean in the public protest front. I just feel we are in a mess here and so many people are just letting it happen. I think someone else was spot on, it’s the Brexit crowd that are more likely to riot and they seem happy with the failures, lies and corruption
ST just grow up please, what a silly comment, its like the Brexit crowd who are more likely to riot

Bureaucracy sky rocketed under Thatcher as she cut back in the 'nanny state: (there's some clowns believed her), it escalates each time a complete hash is made of the country, hence it's escalating now as the wrongs of the Tory administration of the last decade have left us in a mess.
