The negative posters are out in July ffs

You can see how short we are when u look at our squad numbers. It’s a typical zorro post he does this every season despite the fact if you dig deep enough there’s plenty of negative posts off him.

The squad number announcement is a shocker. To name 17 players, including 3 keepers, 9 days out is truly eye opening.

Some even tell of the manager walking lol

God help us come match if this is how they are now.
Nah, just a few jolly japes.

3 loans coming in
1 free agent
1 championship all star
1 marquee signing from the prem
2 academy wonderkids

makes the 17 man squad look a lot more tasty with less money outlaid than last season.

It’s the equivalent of having an imaginary friend!!!!

I assume I am one the "negative posters" referred to, especially when you mention my claim that I believe that the manager may walk unless things improve.

Let me tell you though, I am not negative at all, far from it. I have bought a season ticket for the coming season for the first time in about 15 years, so am massively looking forward to the season starting.

I am just being realistic however. How anybody can be anything but negative looking at our forward options is beyond me. The only 2 senior strikers, if you can call Coburn that, on our books were not considered good enough to be regular starters last season in a striker group that is widely considered as one of the worst the club has ever had. The season also starts in 9 days. Before people just down my throat and say that "the window doesn't close for some time yet", yes, I am fully aware of that. But I am also fully aware that if you want to get promoted automatically, which is our publicly stated ambition, then you need to start the season strongly. With the options we have up front I just cannot see how that happens, so one of 2 things will happen; we will either be left behind by the clubs with better options or more settled sides, leaving us playing catch up in the early weeks, or we will miss an opportunity to leave other clubs behind.
or we'll sign players very soon
or the two mentioned will do well for a few weeks
or they'll struggle but we'll scrape out a few 1-0 wins anyway until signing come in

so many possibilities good and bad, there's a lot to be said for waiting and seeing what happens.

Each to their own. Does make me laugh with some of the negative comments I see, not just on here. Some of the replies on the Gazette's boro posts on facebook are hilarious, and similarly the boro's official fb posts. Personally, I'm probably too positive. With a huge chunk of perspective I guess when I've seen the plight of other clubs who've gone under (Bury to name one) I'm just grateful we have a team to support at this level and we're always talked about as a promotion contender. We're in a pretty healthy position, great owner etc. Whatever the outcome this season the club will always have my full support. Utb.
