The myth/lie of two tier policing

Funny how this line never gained traction when statistics were bandied around about the disparity in stop and search between white and non-white people, deaths in custody etc.

This post is absolutely not a stick to beat the police with, just borne from plentiful eye-rolling at the intellectually infirm who can't put one foot in front of the other without tripping over the little agenda weighing down their every thought.

There seems to me to be a two tier system. But not in the way it is portrayed by the right wingers.
It started with BJ calling Muslim women letterboxes , then gay men bum boys, Partygate, Dominic Cummings and Barnard Castle, PPE VIP lane and contract awards,......
All crimes that the ordinary person would go to jail for and indeed has been heavily fined for breach of COVID rules but Tory MP's were seemingly exempt.
Yes, there is a two tier system.

I'd add that the two tier system you've rightly pointed out , was / is hidden by the Tories and Ukip .
They constantly made those seeking refuge/ asylum and to immigrate as ' the problem ' .
The ' problem' were a less deserving of rights and humanity.
Started with brexit , and continued thereafter.

I think the rioting is absolutely disgusting, however the difference in the way the police treated the riots in Harehills down the road to me and the rest at the moment is night and day. Yes in the aftermath many were arrested but they drove away from the scene and allowed absolute carnage to continue.

I'm not saying there is two tier policing but when I see the below footage I do find it alarming that there isn't one police officer in sight. Some of these people were armed with knives (there is footage elsewhere of people from the same crowd slashing tyres) and a few were driving like maniacs...

Is that because they treat Roma family’s better than other citizens or because they didn’t have the resources to deal with it at the time?

That wasn't a riot.

But it was law breaking.
So you want the riot police in for that? There was probably police helicopters and undercover coppers everywhere. Just because you don't see them in the footage doesn't mean they aren't there.

If your going to send in the riot police for wheel spins then they're gonna be busy at teesside park on a regular basis.

At what point did I mention riot police, a large gathering of people would and should be of concern to the police in general, so would carrying a knife in public.

some of the white racists hate riot mobs had axes, knuckle dusters, knives and other weapons. The police haven't waded into any large groups and started arresting people. It's just too dangerous to do that. So it's not two tier, they're treated the same.

The difference is that they have been able to capture some white people as they splinter off into smaller groups into different parts of town to cause trouble. The asian lads have largely stayed as one group in the direct vaccinity of their mosques.

So, no, there is no two-tier policing, it's just another Little Tommy Robinson manipulation.

If you read the article from The Guardian mentioned in the original post, it is pretty clear why that happened.

And did they!!!!!
No, but then these lads were not attacking the police, looting shops, throwing stones, trying to burn people alive. Yes, they were intimidating, yes they were acting like idiots around a roundabout. But there was largely containment and control of the situation.

There was one guy being racist got punched outside a pub. This was followed by a couple of guys laying the boot in, but the original guy who punched stopped anything further happening. Over in a flash. He should be arrested for the punch by the way.

There was a bit of intimidation of sky news, and one tyre was slashed. Or attempted to be slashed, by one person.

That's pretty much all that happened in Birmingham. The older guys generally kept it under some form of control.

They were utterly outnumberd and no backup was available. It was a choice to protect officers not a choice to go soft because they might have a different ethnicity.
