I concur that you should never change newy.

I do think a 7th placed finish this season, followed by a managerial change in the autumn, could be very possible.

Not entirely on the same page with your player comparisons, but that’s just detail.

Tony Mowbray was devastatingly close to getting it spot on.. a Josef Varga at right back away.. a Daniel Ayala arriving that little bit earlier.

Interesting with that Tony Mowbray being a defender and us lacking in that extra defender.. as too we may see with Carrick.

I do think that Law McCabe has it in him to succeed btw.. I just think than Dan Barlaser doesn’t quite bring enough bite into that midfield.. tackles, interceptions.. hence the near constant chants for Beka Beka (13 now)

Similar to not utilising Josef Varga at right back.. I do think we are missing a trick not rolling the dice on Timothy Fosu Mensah..

two clearly empty spots in the squads and two clear positions in which we are slightly lacking.

Agreed: the season he took over is often forgotten compared to the 2 years we started well and finished nowhere.

10/11 season: 11 points from 13 before he took over; 51 points from 33 after he took over. The difference between certain relegation form and borderline playoff form.

Admittedly that's with a squad that had been pre-season favourites for promotion, but after 11 matches, we all knew we were nowhere near that standard.
