* The Luton v Deckchairs Play-off Semi-Final 2nd Leg Thread *

Good grief Iโ€™ve just finished watching this game of โ€œfootballโ€ having recorded it to watch at nine oโ€™clock. It was akin to an old fourth division hoof ball match in the 80โ€™s ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ if we do get through to the final we should be demolishing these on a big pitch. What a shocking way to play the beautiful game

The referee will be under instructions not to allow Luton to strongarm their way into The Premier league :rolleyes:

If we do get through to play Luton, we will have to stand up to their physicality and not give away cheap set pieces and hopefully our possession and passing will keep the ball away from them and also help in not letting them get up a head of steam. That is when teams struggle, like Sunderland tonight. They couldn't cope with it. Hopefully we will handle it differently if we get the chance to play them in the final.

Eh? Thats not true about Smac. The football under Robson was poor towards the end. I dont think anyone beat Smac with the Robson stick.
I maybe never beat him with the Robson stick but I honestly believe McClaren was a very lucky manager but he will go down as our most successful manager. I was never a fan of him.

There is some truth in that. Probably harsh to say it was all down to luck, but he did have a knack of things going his way at crucial moments that other managers we've had didn't.

Isn't there a saying, better to be a lucky general than a good one.
