Anyone see it?
I found it fascinating. 4 people had others convinced they were the mysterious DB Cooper - or did they die when parachuting?

90 minutes long - and a mystery that will probably never be solved (FBI closed the case)

Thanks for recommending this. Just watched it and thought it was brilliant. As you say, absolutely fascinating.
Spoiler alert.

For me, I thought 1 and 4 were the most likely to be the answer. Thats not to say either of them are, of course. I really hope it’s solved definitively one day.

I was working in New York about 15 years back and read an article in the NY Times about a new book that was out called "Skyjack: The Hunt for DB Cooper" which I bought and finished that day (sat in a bar in the East Village and read it cover to cover).

Since then the whole case has fascinated me, and it seems like only recently it's made its way over to the UK. I wasn't actually that impressed with any of the documentaries that have come out having seen all of them (I think).

I'd forgotten all about this case. Had a read of the Wiki page which goes through the suspects and theories. On the subject of surviving the jump, they cite the experience of war time pilots bailing out and surviving and the record of subsequent copycat hijackers one of whom survived the jump despite having to be shown how to put on a parachute.

I thought 1 because of the money found. 2 seemed unlikely (but as the case is so unlikely anyway who knows?). 3 did do it again successfully (at least in terms of the jump). 4 had few details , but again who knows?
Obviously the FBI decided it was 5 he didn't survive - but in over 50 years you'd have thought they'd found something even in that remote area.
Like you say it would be great to find out the truth one day

Just spent 15 mins searching iPlayer 😂😂.
Before realising this thread started in 2022. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I did watch the Netflix one and seem to think the guy who had died was most likely on that one too.

I only saw this story recently.. mentioned about how knowledgeable the guy was on the plane about where they were and altitude etc.. all the technical stuff.

Then followed it up with a quick Google and it sounded like home might have came a cropper with bits of money being found near a river.

Sounds like maybe he didn’t!
a happy ending of sorts?

It’s a bold plan to even come up with.. let alone to follow through!
