The height of human culture?

I’m a huge fan of the BBCs in our time. Radio 4 institution that today hit 1000 episodes. This was a huge deal and I felt this was an opportunity to make a statement. My apologies if it’s not whingeing about the Boro just now.

In the past, they’ve done some serious programs about the arts, about history, and about science. Really intellectual stuff to be honest, but still accessible to a thicko like me. I was so disappointed with today’s 1000 episode choice. Not a bit of momentous science, or a bit of historically significant physical art, or a turning point of human history. Rather, something made up and a bit ****.

Fantasy films are a valid medium but they are a trivial one. Forgive my rant. It’s not the Boro, but it is from the heart.

It's just a number, mate. I catch it from time to time too: the definition of esoteric radio! Melvin Bragg sounds old, but still pretty sharp
