Anyone on here a fan? I went to see them in Edinburgh last Saturday as they are back together, and they were absolutely superb. Hopefully new music on its way soon too.

If you haven't heard of them and like Springsteen, the Clash etc give them a listen, starting with the album the 59 Sound, you won't be disappointed.

Blast from the past! Used to like them back in the day. Yes, very Springsteen-esque
At Glastonbury 2009 they played one of the smaller stages. Unfortunately I got rather "disorientated" and ended up missing them, they were joined on that small stage by none other than Mr. Springsteen.

Buggger.

Rather lost track of them since, didn't know that they had split up let alone reformed! Would have rather liked to see them, did they play anywhere hereabouts?

One of my favourite bands, the '59 Sound is a tremendous album. Have you heard much of Brian Fallon's solo stuff? Painkillers is probably the pick of the bunch.

Yeah I really like his solo stuff but think I prefer him with Gaslight as they seem to have a bit more oomph. The 59 Sound remains for me one of the best albums i've heard in many years

Yeah, I agree on both counts. For me it's probably the last really 'great' rock album released. Which is a sad state of affairs in relation to modern rock, given it must be getting close to 15 years old! I bought Gaslight's first album recently as well, only listened to it once, but think there might be some good songs on there.

It was a strange one cos the 59 Sound, American Slang and Handwritten are all absolutely brilliant for me and that should have been the set up for a top level rock career, but then Get Hurt came out and it got destroyed by the critics, justifiably, and they split up. Hopefully the time apart and space to want to be a full band again will get them back to their best for the new material. They are the type of band I think who need the luck of being on at around tea time on the main stage at Glastonbury and getting some mainstream exposure and they will really take off
