The Ford Fiesta shall be no more

What will all the learner drivers learn in?

How many people in the UK must have had one of these over the years as a run about or first car?

I had a mk3 fiesta. Not the greatest car. The exhaust fell off near Weston Super Mare, and we needed the AA to deliver us home. And the engine was clapped out and guzzling oil by the time that it had 45k miles on the clock. I assume that the previous buyer changed the milometer reading. Got rid of it after a couple of years only.

Mk1 was a straight copy of the Mk1 Polo - which wasn't a bad thing

They've grown over the years too - the relatively recent Ka+ has roughly the same dimensions as the original Fiesta.

My first car, inherited off my mam… 1.1 popular plus W reg.
The paint job was the same colour as the one in the advert above 😁

Had two of them a MK4 and a MK6 facelift. Loved both of them. Particularly the MK with the ecoboost engine, nice and nippy, free car tax.

Noooooooooo, car of my childhood. Nearly put one through Redcar police's front door once in a slippery bout of too much speed.

The recent ST's are great things. If anything, they should kill the Kuga and Puma, they are awful vehicles.

Disappointing.

I was looking at a Mk3 RS Turbo Fiesta yesterday.

They only wanted £8,500 for it.

This is sad news.....

I've actually owned 6 in my life time. My first car was a 1 litre pea green one that cost £560 in 91.

I'm now having a midlife crisis and own a MK8 Fiesta ST. An absolutely cracking little car to drive. No thoughts of getting rid of that anytime soon. Although good chance it will get nicked before then 😂

Is that the one with the Ecoboost engine?

Bought mine new in 1999 with a big discount as the new model was coming in. Still running it daily and just passed its MOT equivalent with no repairs needed, so OK for another two years. Never a problem and a great little runaround.

Fast Ford related, I saw a pink Capri coming off the A66 towards Thornaby cemetery the other day. Looked in reasonable nick for its age which I'd say was early 70s.
