Now I get the argument for finishing domestic leagues as these need to be done for continuity etc as we’d come so far but what the hell is the point of finishing the FA cup semi finals and finals at Wembley.

As cups ARE about the fans it’s about glory seeing your team win BEING there could you imagine a winning a cup final with no fans there what’s the point.

They should have declared the cups over and done and given the euro place to the league as this is pointless.

TV has already done its best to render the FA Cup worthless. I would really like to see it restored to its former glory and just abandoning the competition would not help with that.

But what is the point of a cup competition with zero fans as there’s no points at stake so no long term issues to resolve just null and void it for this season and forget it until the fans come back.

I find it quite insulting actually that it’s still being played.

As anyone that wins it this year is largely meaningless anyway.

I agree but as I said I can see the argument for finishing the leagues.

But why play a cup competition.

The FA have a contract with Wembley Stadium to stage both FA Cup semi-finals and the final at the stadium.

It really is that simple.

This years fa cup who will really care i’d forgotten the semis were even on today just heard on talk sport.

I’m not talking about playing at Wembley I’m talking about playing it all and “it really is that simple” that contract is for the money they’d make through gate money sponsors etc not the asinine excuse we have now.

It’s a waste of time and an insult to the fans

Really pointless playing out the FA Cup. Will the players sing abide with me before the final as there's no crowd to?! Tbh the FA Cup could just have been completed next year as the season is to be truncated anyway and lower leagues given some compensation or solidarity payments as they will anyway.

No different to league competition, maybe a bit of a more even playing field.

They're not just about fans either, about players too.

I wouldn't be bothered if there were fans. Unless Boro were in it of course. It's lost its place as a special part of our sporting landscape.

Exactly. Same reason the FA Trophy and FA Vase are still scheduled to be finished. I think even the north riding cup hasn't been declared null and void yet.
