The end?

Or, maybe, you need to get over yourself and stop assuming that my post is in reply to you, personally. You clearly see yourself as a world authority on all of this and anything I said that you dont agree with happened to be aimed at you.

Again, no debate of any raised points just attitude. Considering we were replying to each other it’s fair to assume that when you say you disagree with almost everything in that time frame that you were, in part, including me. I have put forward mostly evidence based on what Putin/Russia actually says and does, you do dismiss or ignore that.

Of course I’m not a world authority, again more sarcasm and no substance, but I at least have some direct experience as I was living in Russia at the time of the invasion. I have nearly 7 years in Kazakhstan and Russia and have travelled extensively around Central Asia and the Caucasus- I have read the politics and history for years, but you keep playing the man.

I am obviously not expressing myself very clearly because a lot of you have totally misunderstood what I am saying.
Some of the replies I got were just daft and extremely patronising from people getting on their high horse and talking as if they are serving intelligence officers or diplomats with access to high level info. Some necks definitely need winding all the way back in. Good lads.

Yes, yours. I’ve debated fairly, you can barely get a coherent argument started.

Good lad. I'm very proud of you.

Good lad. I'm very proud of you.

I’m going to ignore your patronising comments as this thread has mostly been cordial and constructive despite the subject matter. I apologise if I’ve riled or provoked you but I just want people to engage with what I write rather than just dismissing my comments, I’m not just throwing them out there, I’m considering what I write and take time to make sure they’re as accurate as I can make them, I’m certainly not always right though so happy to be corrected.

When I mentioned people on this board having experience and knowledge, I was more alluding to Borolad, not myself, but there are a number of considered posters on this thread that make it worth reading. I don’t consider myself an authority but I do think some of my experiences give me a different insight that’s not totally worthless.

I assume you want the same as I do, a peaceful outcome, we may differ in how that’s done but insults on a message don’t solve anything and I’m too old and busy for that anyway. If you want to question anything I’ve said, that’s precisely what this thread is for and I welcome the debate when it’s done civilly and honestly. I think I’m being fair there?

This thread has been one of the most interesting and illuminating threads, I’ve seen on the board, in some time. It has always been, and still is, anti-war in my opinion. But has an understandable bias towards Ukraine.

For all its limitations, it is largely impartial and disinterested, in a positive sense, and respectful of other’s opinions.

Fast moving personal exchanges and lots of subjective commentary have the effect of pushing the main content off the front page and diluting it.

So far it hasn’t gone the way of threads about brexit and cyclists etc… and it’s the better for that. That said, I will be very happy when this thread is no longer relevant.

There’s room for all opinions, but if this was the forum for finding a lasting resolution we’d need different board members… and that’s just my opinion…

Right, I'm going to take issue with this :) Bare with me

"There’s room for all opinions, but if this was the forum for finding a lasting resolution we’d need different board members… and that’s just my opinion…"

No, the moment an overt Vatnik supporting muppet turns up, I'm going to get sweary. No room for them at all.

You undersell where we are on the threads lasting resolution - Ruzzia gtf out of Ukraine, and I'm probably stretching it here but welcome to NATO Ukraine if you will have us. Apart from a bit of handwringing from some of the lets be a bit nicer to Ordinary Russians folk, I think this thread has basically all ended up in the same place

& as for bias, I will have a think about that after booking my holiday for next summer

This thread has endured through 256 pages of views and excellent updates from the frontline. There have been no personal jibes so lets continue to be open minded. I would assume the vast majority of posters want one thing. Peace in Ukraine with the invading Russians back to their original borders.

I don't disagree with any of that.

Finally watched 20 days in Mariupol tonight, I knew I had to eventually. Tough watch, very tough watch. Hope if ever I have to see it again it’s as evidence in the Hague. C***s.

What's macron gonna say to the French? Are they going in ? Seems to be a few moves happening. France / Germany / Poland having emergency meetings all of a sudden

He will be explaining to the French people what is already happening, and why. He has signed a mutual defence pact with Ukraine, which basically means they're in with them. They'll mostly be in Western Ukraine, "policing" .... border patrols etc But they've got Rafales flying missions already, and have had for a while. European leaders all had sight of Russia's long term plans. Some have reacted overtly, like Macron, some covertly. Some are more "all in" than others. Germany is a little reticent. But, they all recognised the threat to long term European peace and stability being posed by the current Moscow regime. Macron is, of course, making political capital out of it ... and it will particularly give him some "glowing cheeks" that he is "leading" and Scholtz is "prevaricating". Anyway, that's what I think it will be about.

Seems to be a lot of activity around Belgorod with Chechens Rebels and the RDC. A lot of locals on the run.

I can't tell you everything that is going on in Bilhorod and Kursk, nor what the plan is (and there is one .... but it is flexible) ... but 3 Russian battalions have surrendered to the Free Russia brigades. There's a fair bit of screaming on the Russian Telegram channels because the authorities are saying that they defeated the interlopers two days ago. It's a bit ugly on the ground though. Happy election days.
