In Sunak’s budget address yesterday he spent 5 1/2 minutes drooling over how he was going to save the average punter £12 a year on beer and wine (arguably it won’t anyway) but zero minutes on the huge tax burden he’s just wrapped on households first on social care levy and then the ending of triple lock pensions. Absolutely no mention whatsoever. Of course the reason for that is he had pre announced the bad news. Also it was earlier in the year that he froze tax thresholds until 2026 so that many more families are dragged higher tax brackets over the next 5 years.
The budget speech itself has been used by this Tory Government has become a bit of a PR con.
Especially when this government's flagship policy is going to **** us all
