The Bridge/Copenhagen (Øresund Bridge)

Off to Copenhagen in Feb and just wondered if anyone's driven over the bridge? We've got a hire car and I'm not sure whether it's best to buy a ticket beforehand or just pay at the toll booths?
There's a site you can get an upfront ticket for 178KR, £13, looks genuine

Also any Copenhagen/Malmo suggestions welcome, we're only there for 4 days

Did it last summer. When we picked up the hire car we mentioned we'd be going over to Sweden and they organised the ticket for us at a discounted rate.

You can get one in advance yourself which is much cheaper than paying when you get there but the price from the car hire firm was cheaper still. That quote of £13 sounds ridiculously cheap, even if it's only one way I'd still be dubious.

Yeah I was worried it was off - but didn't seem totally unrealistic for going over a bridge. But hey that's Scandinavian prices!

Talking to the hire car company upfront sounds like a plan, ta.

I was there last May (for Eurovision) and stayed in Copenhagen and travelled by train over the bridge to Malmo. Malmo there is not much there except do the Bridge locations tour. Copenhagen however is a fantastic City.

Cycle tour of the city
Tivoli Gardens
Harbour boat tour

are 3 musts

Very Expensive - that seems very cheap. I am out here now I heard it was about £50 each way so maybe be cautious with that. But maybe prices cheaper in winter. If you want to share site and I’ll ask the Dane’s 🇩🇰 at work I’ll feedback to you Ebor 👍

If you want to take a little walk. From the city hall square (Raadhuspladsen) with your back to the building. In front of you is
Strøget ( the walking street) which ends at Nyhavn. The Good thing is there’s lots of interesting side streets off it the way down to the harbour that are worth having a look at. Nyhavn is very hip now apparently. When I lived there there were certain bars you didn’t enter after dark.
But it’s all been gentrified now, all really safe and normal.
My favourite city.

Went under the Oresund Bridge on a cruise ship several years ago. We were up on deck and so close sure could have touched it as we went under.

I crossed it a few times last year, most recently in Nov and our TM booked the tickets in advance so we could drive through the open lane without stopping etc. Was much cheaper for a weekend ticket in advance than paying on the day which I’ve done before and was £45.

Just remembered this. After we crossed we parked up here. You get really good views of the bridge and there's even a kind of pier you can walk along for photos.
