xG is over-rated and one can spin a story positive or negative based on a players xG. One thing I learned in my job is never just use a single stat to judge anything.

I know plenty will disagree, but I think its a load of bunkum (xG). Every game is different, every player is different game to game, luck, skill, timing, decision making, speed of thought so many things come into play that nothing can be expected other than the unexpected.
