You've got to add George Martin to make 5 personalities. He was the wizard who could interpret their ideas and make the fabulous sounds.

I wouldn’t try and change your mind because you’re absolutely right. Even the early period referred to above as ‘skiffle/boyband’ was innovative and new. I lived through it. Nothing will ever surpass them.

Whenever I hear Yellow Submarine, it takes me back to the Holgate End in the old 3rd division. We had a great Kop, brilliant songs, chants and we all lived in a Red Submarine.

Neil Innes was multi-talented - Bonzo Dog Doodah Band, Do Not Adjust Your Set, The Rutles and Monty Python just from that period.
