The Beatles, the best band ever?? Convince me I'm wrong...

The blueprint for pretty much every band that came afterwards. Was just listening to the white album for the first time in a while yesterday and the breadth of material is astounding. I played Revolution 9 loud and even now it's a complete head f***.

GET BACK the recent 8 hour fly on the wall docu is an eye opener. I came to the conclusion that their 4 personalities created the chemistry to make great music without limits. They were in tune with each other, talented, original and probably most of all marketable
You've got to add George Martin to make 5 personalities. He was the wizard who could interpret their ideas and make the fabulous sounds.

I wouldn’t try and change your mind because you’re absolutely right. Even the early period referred to above as ‘skiffle/boyband’ was innovative and new. I lived through it. Nothing will ever surpass them.

The world's first boy band?
The foundation of their success, plus millions of their sales stemmed from screaming girls buying the records cos they fancied them.
Then came the counter culture/hippy scene, their records were still full of nursery rhyme standard lyrics.
The hype had long set in by then.

You are correct. People might hold a different opinion, which they are entitled to, but if they do they are just plain wrong.

Second best band of all time? Well that is open to debate.
