There were a lot of anti Geordie songs today. You have to laugh when we’re singing things like ‘have you ever seen an Geordie lift a cup?’ Or ‘Johnny Woodgate is a red’ when our manager is a Geordie and has won just about all there is to win in club football.

I don't know about this as I wasn't there but I do know ,I don't ever wish ever to hear a song like is such " It's a good time to be a smoggy, it's a good time for me ...." to the tune of that tipperary thingy. I hope no Boro fan goes there , no matter how good our current journey gets . ;)

I don’t think it’s literal. It’s aimed at the club rather than Geordies in general. Just a bit of ribbing. Don’t take it too seriously 👍🏼

I'm not sure anyone says smoggy anymore do they?

I wasn’t having a go. I just thought it was funny at the time. Although I do think it’s time the build a bonfire song was dropped. Not just because it’s about burning people. The lyrics have nothing to do with football or the Boro.

Just a bit of fun. No doubt the Geordies are worlds away from us as club and not really rivals any more as they’ve gone, operating on a completely different level to us even if we get to the PL.

However it’s the one thing we can be smug about, and it won’t be long until we can’t do it any more, so I enjoyed it.
