That’s it then. No Deal

The problem with the thread Cooper isn't so much the arguments raging, it was a group of posters ganging up on a smaller group. The vast majority were trying to make a point and the vast majority of the posts, taken in isolation, were fine. It's when you add them all up and the sheer weight.

I am absolutely sure most posters were making points, many of them valid. It's when you take them in their totality it starts to look.. well just like bullying. It's a difficult thing to moderate, but for a minute imagine they were all in one room slinging the insults back and forth, would they feel OK about it then? I like to think not. It would be 10 poster shouting down 2 or 3.

Lefty there is a passage in 5.2 about unilateral fishing rights, can't remember where the airline one was and I am about to watch the leeds game.

I am with you in as much I didn't think member states were allowed to negotiate their own agreements, the document seems to be threatening states that go down this route, but I am not sure.

I'll have a look later and get back to you.
Lefty, OK looked again, sections 6 and 7 contain the generalised text , copied below, took me a while to get back to it. I would be interested to hear your interpretation, but it looks like a thinly veiled threat, or, as I took it, a warning to the UK. In any case I asked myself why they would contain the warning to member states in a missive to the UK. Perhaps legal reasons, I don't know.

With regard to national measures, the Commission will continue to engage with Member States with the aim of ensuring that national measures do not fragment or undermine the Single Market.

A second principle is that the United Kingdom should not draw similar benefits from such measures as the ones offered by the Union in the negotiations on the future agreement.

in order to preserve the integrity of the Single Market, limit the risk of fragmentation and avoid unequal treatment of Member States. In any event, national measures of any kind have to comply with EU law, including the principle of sincere cooperation. At any rate, the EU collectively has a stronger bargaining power than each Member State acting alone. This bargaining power benefits all Member States. It must be used to ensure a level playing field between the EU and the United Kingdom. The Commission looks forward to continued discussions with Member States about their national preparedness measures.

At the end of the transition period, many stakeholders and citizens may face disruptions. It will be crucial that the Union continues to respond in a united and coordinated manner to such disruptions. The Commission and Member States will remain in close contact to coordinate their response to any issue that might arise and to identify how best to address them

Just to add to my post above WTF. You don't realise quite how vitriolic it can become when you are engaged in the bullying (for want of a better word). When I was reading this thread it made me very uncomfortable.

Boro x3 is one of the ones that has been banned... tells you everything you need to know.
He was the one just expressing his different political opinion yet gets called a racist and then banned by the moderator who sided with the bullies

For balance. I reported an abusive post by one of the "left leaning" posters.

This is outrageous. Could somebody with control of this board please refer me to your anti bullying policy please. The days should have long gone when bullies are appeased. This is not a Labour party message board and all Boro fans of any political colour should be respected

There was a shocking lack of respect right through this thread, though I did have an epiphany which was useful.

It is interesting that this has devolved into a debate about 'respect'.

An interesting parallel, given what we've heard about the 2016 vote being a revolt for by those who perceived themselves as ignored, underappreciated and/or disrespected.

I'd say the thread has run its course. There is really no debate going on really and hasn't been for a good 24 hours.

It's match day. Think this should be locked and everyone move on. Lets face it another one will pop up shortly if people want to continue the mud slinging

The debate has been in the same loop for 4.5 years for most of us :)

@rob_fmttm since the moderator won’t respond to @Hicktonpen10 request please can you shows us the anti bullying policy please
Registration assumes "implied consent" by the registrant to the decisions of the Administrator. Im not speaking on their behalf - this is my personal "interpretation. [r00fie1]

1. Admin of this board is done in the interests of the majority of users and not just for the individual (you). This might mean that you may find yourself upset/irritated/infuriated/full of righteous indignation over admin decisions (especially if one of your posts has been deleted). This is unfortunate, but it's the way things are.

2. Admin do not have the time, or the inclination, to enter long eliptical discussions about admin decisions. If you have a query about a specific decision, you can email fmttmadmin@gmail.com It may not be possible to answer your query immediately. We may be busy. POSTS/THREADS ABOUT ADMIN DECISIONS/POLICY WILL BE DELETED.

3. Abuse of admin will no longer be tolerated at all.

4. It's not a democratic process. It might even resemble an authoritarian regime. Well, it might be, but for the vast majority of users who have little or no conflict with admin, it's a benevolent one.

5. Trolling: it's for wazzocks. Don't be a wazzock. We'll warn first. Persistent offenders will be deleted.

6. Try to treat other users with respect. Refrain from posts that MAY BE INTERPRETED as hateful/racist/offensive etc.
Banter is fine, as are the attempts to circumvent the swear filter ... as long as they are mild/amusing/NOT LIKELY TO OFFEND.

7. Be aware that girls/women read the board. If the lads could try to keep a lid on their testosterone, and keep to language that's unlikely to make women feel uncomfortable, that would be helpful (ie. don't be sexist/misogynist). This is gender specific because the issue is gender specific. In fact female posters seldom give admin cause for concern on any front.

8. If you see something offensive, use the report function or you can report it in this thread. You can also use this thread to report problems with the board. Please don't use this thread for any other purpose.

9. DO NOT POST CRITICISM OR ARGUMENT WITH ADMIN IN THIS THREAD. Thanks. That will help us to keep it free for reports.

10. Enjoy.

Thanks for that Roofie. I accept entirely the decision of the Administrator but look forward to him sending me the policy as requested.
