Thank you Steve Gibson, Bausor, Warnock and anyone else working on these deals. I for one and many others will appreciate the time and effort in trying to improve the squad on what must be fairly limited funds. But fairplay, you have given it a bloody good go with a huge overhaul and I for one am excited for the rest of this season. Up the Boro. This feels like the start of a new era with Scott coming in too.
 
I always think it best to wait until deadline day before reacting to transfer speculation - but I know that makes me a killjoy. I just don't want to put myself through unnecessary trauma. Great outcome though and reward for a summer of very hard work I presume pursuing these deals to the finish line.
 
I want to see the players playing for us before making any firm judgements, especially players who have never played in England before.

Yeah, I think that's true. But you can still applaud the intent.

Given our finances and recent struggles in competing with other teams for targets I think "on paper" this is about as good as you could hope for. There's also a nice mix of players who've been here and done it before and the three lads from overseas leagues.

The game isn't played on paper of course and every signing is a gamble. But in theory, as armchair experts, I think it's as good a gamble as we could expect. Time will tell. 2 of the overseas players are only on loan, so not tied into long contracts either if they don't adapt.
 
Yes, have to say this has been a very good window for us and these players could really go onto improve us over the next few years. Hopefully this is representative of our transfer strategy over the next few years

Think with what we have spent, we probably couldnt have got much better. Would have loved to have signed Muniz but apart from that we have done well.

A bit concerning if we arent looking at cover for Bola, assumed we would have got someone in on a free/loan. Could be a problem if he gets injured

Yeah it’s a shame that, don’t fancy Peltier to cover there really on his wrong side at his age. At least if we ever go wing backs we know Jones can play left wing back. Make no bones about it though a long term injury to Bola would be a massive blow.

Joe Bennett was linked the other day, assume we can sign free transfers after today so expect he might join, if not it’s only really Peltier

I thought that too but he’s signed for Wigan today
