He wasn’t involved in the development of the PayPal software. He’d left his other company before it merged with another company and later became PayPal. Giving him any credit for PayPal is ridiculous.
Mind you, regardless of my views of Tesla, he didn’t found that company either.

He’s demonstrably taken something good and made it worse with Twitter. Who would you suggest should be blamed?
Tesla are unreliable and unsafe, and overpriced compared to the rest of the market. You may disagree and that’s fine.

First Para: I agree. Your hypocrisy was from the fact he was involved in PayPal, made it better, but you won't give him credit for that.
Second para: you do realise this entrie thread is about Tesla prices dropping? From what I can see they are on a par with similar vehicles. Unless you know different?
And yes, I disagree on the unsafe bit. More to the point. The euro NCAP guys do. Their latest model, for example, has a 5 star safety rating scoring 97% in adult occupancy, 87% in child occupancy, 82% in vulnerable road users, and a staggering 98% in safety assist.
So it's not just about disagreeing, though I do, it's about disagreeing after seeing evidence to support my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like the cars, but to say they are expensive seems incorrect and to say they are unsafe goes against measured testing

exactly this, it's a shock-story in the media to identify when a tesla fails, but every manufacturer has failures. What matters is the %s and trends and tesla are in the highest categories for safety under independent test. Any other claim is just noise, bluster and prejudiced opinion.

The share price of Tesla is massively overinflated and a correction is well overdue. It remains high because of Musk but that effect is starting to diminish now as he peels off the layers of his once liberal mask to reveal the neo-liberal right-winger he really is.

Yeah, I don't think that's proving what you think it is. How many cars have much bigger recalls over safety concerns? What about those NCAP scores?
As @BoroMart points out. Tesla failures are newsworthy, so I can understand why you have an incorrect view of safety, you're not hearing about the millions of other vehicles that get recalled.

Can't understand why anyone would use full self-driving. I've disabled lane-assist on all my cars ever since I first had the option. I tried it for a trip from NYC to Philly and back and vowed never again. On the other hand, my current car (not a Tesla) has smart cruise control and I use that regularly. Brings the car to a stop and restarts when in traffic.Safe as houses….

And, again, it's not about disagreeing over safety. I showed you the euro ncap ratings and you countered with a recall for software that hasn't even been released, FSD is in beta. So I'll ask uou this. Do you have any evidence that a Tesla running real software is less safe than other cars. Becasue NCAP would,d suggest otherwise
