Tenerife

Hello everyone, I’m in Tenerife for a couple of weeks and looking for some interesting places to visit that are off the beaten track and away from the tourists. We have a car so can drive.

Any recommendations please?

Not far from Masca is Garrachico and Icod de Los Vinos. I've lived in Los Gigantes before and there's no better place to go on a boat trip besides the giant cliffs or have lunch by the marina

Also worth taking a drive up Teide. Even at night it's amazing the clear skies are perfect for star gazing. Go to the capital Santa Cruz, it's where Nelson lost his arm

Got a last minute all inclusive booking for Tenerife and ended up at Los Gigantes.
Apart from looking at the frankly massive black cliffs, there's absolutely nothing to do there.

Edit: there's nothing to do if you have a 15 year old and a 13 year old with you

We went to the big wildlife park. It was very much on the beaten track though, but decent.

Also went to the waterpark which was so busy it was impossible to truly enjoy.

los americanos up the hill .....

We jumped in the car today to see where we would end up and found ourselves in El Medano which is a lovely town. Been here several hours and not heard a single English word spoken….. heaven!
