Teesside successes?

After watching an interview with Brian Clough and Don Revie, arguing about Leeds back in the day, I looked up and noticed Revie was Middlesbrough born. Never seen that referred to before. Are there any other figures from football or other places that are from here? Is Revie's origin common knowledge?
After all, aside from his success at Leeds, he was an England manager.
Ferguson, Stein and Shankly are always banged on about in terms of their Glasgow heritage, why not this from our place?

Do young kids know about Elvis ? Time moves on , but it is a fair point. The town should do more to 'promote' stories like these.
Re the accents of Clough and DR - any thoughts ?

And I suppose who they grow up with, my young & I watched Dammed United years ago, obviously he's brought up with that side of it but if his/her family have no interest in football then I guess unless he / she go looking why would they know

People who are successful in all walks of life should be promoted . I think that they could be viewed as positive role models for those in the area , especially young kids .
Maybe a few well designed plaques with QR codes for more information ? Streets named after them rather than generic names , anything that may get a kid thinking " You know, he/she did it , so why can't I give it a go "
Look at Sir William Turner - born in Guisborough & he made the Lord Mayor of London!

I don't think Revie is reveared much outside of Leeds, certainly not as much as Clough.

His team was hated, and his greatest achievement as England manager was getting the players appearence money.

At best he's grudgingly respected rather than loved; I suspect the town has been reluctant to claim him in the was it does Clough.
