Can’t really change much with our horrific injuries so it’s marginal differences.

Never known a season like this for long term
injuries to key players.
 
Does it really matter, we have zero depth. Same old ***** different day.
Let's hope Swansea play like us and are all fart and no poo and we may sneak a draw.

Got it bang on, on Wednesday 11/11...and I think he goes with the same 11 - assuming none of the injuries from Wednesday are available.

Hopefully Hackney is back though as we miss him terribly!

This might sound strange but if Hackney was fit I’d play him instead of Greenwood in that more advanced role he played occasionally last year
 
Carrick's position seems to be that it's best to stick with the same system and same starters because the amount of change we have been suffering from injuries and suspensions is preventing us from building connections on the pitch. To an extent, he is probably right, and I expect we'll see the same starting 11 barring injuries or a surprise return from Hackney.

Personally, I don't think his system as he plays it is sustainable or possible with our quality of players in the Championship. I think he was misled by his early success. If he is an elite level manager in the making then I reckon he needs to learn how to cut his cloth to make the best of the players available to him rather than, Wilder style, placing all his eggs in one basket and insisting the players keep trying until they get it right. (Mixed metaphors intended.)

As we don't have any defensive midfielders available then I would switch to a compact 4-3-3 with the players tasked to take it back to basics. Get as much pace into the team as we can (possibly putting Bangura on the left wing instead of Rogers). It is mostly the same players we have been using except in slightly different positions.

As it is, I expect the only change we'll see is Clarke coming in for Fry or RVDB.

Let’s introduce a few of the young lads. We’re on a hiding to nothing anyway, might as well put some enthusiasm and energy into the team.

I know it won’t happen and it will be same again but given our limited options we need to try something different.

Not really many viable options to change it around really, team almost picks itself. I like the idea of Bangura/Engel on the left, hopefully solidifies that side. Also Playing a more traditional number 10 like greenwood might really play to Lath's strengths rather than CROOKS.
 
I do think Crooks in the deeper midfield role in Hackney’s absence might improve us, just I can’t see it happening. That would allow Rogers to step in, the only real alternative with injuries.

We've conceded 3 goals in each of our last 3 away games and 2 goals in each of our last 2 home games -the current set-up ain't working, not with the players that he currently has available. We can't go on conceding that amount of goals and expect to pick up many points.

Let's try and be more solid through the middle. We have a left sided centre-back (Clarke) use him. VDB is a centre back not a full back, play him as one.

Also our midfield is too easy to play through, Barlaser is too light weight and Howson is getting on. Put an extra body in there and ask Howson to sit in front of the defence, that would suit him better at this stage of his career.

I like that, but would have Greenwood in for Rogers and Bangura for Barlaser.
