Tea - 'It’s an old person's drink.'

I feel like the English have attached themselves to tea as some sort of identity. Don’t get me wrong, I like a cuppa, but come on it’s just a cup of tea hardly a party for the taste buds 😛
I think other nations also associate tea drinking with the British.

I have 3 or 4 cups of Ringtons each day, though no longer have one at bedtime as it means a trip to the toilet half way through the night becomes a probability rather than a possibility.

Poor article written by people with little or no understanding of the variety of teas available, there is such a variety of teas. There is a resurgence of tea house and lots of variety, I drink black tea most of the time and then try something different in the afternoon. The Kadak chai is becoming more popular and there are now a few chains that sell it and a number of independent cafes in Middlesbrough that serve it.

I’ve never tried tea, it doesn’t appeal to me at all. I don’t even know how to make it come to think of it, I assume just leave a tea bag in boiling water or is that akin to using capsules in the coffee world!?

I wondered when we get to the nettle tea brigade. 🤣 🤣 🤣

I can't be done with all that ponsy lemon slice crap. Proper builders tea.

@Ex Footy Legs you need to get your liver checked out. ;)
Plus, get this, every time we go abroad to hot weather a cuppa never passes my lips, not interested, go figure 🤷‍♂️

The Mrs still needs a cuppa first thing in the morning but not for me.

not a big tea or coffee drinker.
Too much caffeine sends me bandy 😂😂, so I do partake in those fruity or minty versions

Maybe not a party for the taste buds but it greets guests and cures all ailments. ;)

When you have a visitor, you offer them tea. If someone is upset, you offer them tea. someone's not feeling well, you offer them tea. You've returned from your travels, put your bags down and have a cup of tea and you think, 'That feels good.'

Yorkshire tea all the way, decaf after four. The only other hot drink I have is a mid morning coffee, and it has to be ground rather than instant. I’m a creature of habit, so imagine my dismay when I was at Norm’s just before Christmas last year and we had AFTERNOON coffee and Christmas cake……😳

The BBC is running an article on how young people are falling out of love with a 'cup of tea' with one comment saying it is an old person's drink and they would rather have a glass of water or diet soda drink.

I love a cup of tea in the morning and it certainly gets the tubes working and I wouldn't dream of having anything else with the mid-week evening meal and will have another cuppa before bedtime. Even as kids, we were given a warm milky cup of tea with toast for our supper before bedtime.

My go to tea has always been Yorkshire Tea, even though my son carries out electrical maintenance at Tetley's Eaglescliffe and can get the tea bags cheaper from their shop. In fact, I'm drinking Yorkshire tea as I type this. I have questioned its strength of late and are finding I need to leave the bag in slightly longer than previously.

Are you a tea person?

I’m most definitely a tea person, since I’ve needed “minders” I have a flask for overnight! 😉

Get a urine bottle like I have! (3)

And I disagree, tea has a wonderful flavour . If in doubt try it after a general anaesthetic (or maybe not ) tastes bloody delicious!
