Tony Mowbray got rid of the Scottish deadwood, cleared the decks for karnaka and built the spine of the team for him.

Karanka must have so many regrets regarding the way it all ended for him at Boro. I wonder if in hindsight he wishes he'd learnt to control his tongue. It just seemed to work for him here but in the end I think his temperament got the better of him, and possibly his position became untenable, although in some ways I wish the issues could have been resolved at the time. I really felt he could have built a legacy here and re-established us as a Premier League club.
