Tav and Payero

These two have to start together centrally now. I thought Payero and Crooks looked lost playing together in the first half but having Tav playing centrally 2nd half seemed to bring Payero to life.

If the injured players aren't ready to return on Wednesday the only change I'd make would be Jones for Ikpeazu and start Tav in the middle.

I like Crooks but sadly I've been saying for a while now that he's a problem for us and an enigma.

He's a box-to-box midfielder for me but we have better players for that role, so I'm not sure how to fit him in. Warnock has been desperately trying to find a way but it's been to the detriment of the team and how we play.

I like McNair playing in a back 3 but if it's a 2 I think I'd rather go with Bamba and Fry.

If that was our first choice team McNair would get plenty of games, as I don't think Bamba can play every match

Crooks was class as a defensive midfielder today. Yet another role he can play in our team.

Tav was gash today. Payero did nothing first half but was decent in second.

So frustrating Crooks, definitely got ability but dwells on the ball too much and slows the game down at the wrong times.

As i mentioned elsewhere id swap both tav and payero for that kid dembele. You could see he had talent after 10 mins. On the other hand we are still wondering if Payero is colourblind!

I saw Dembele back when Woodgate was manager on a TV match, and decided then I wanted us to go for him. I'm amazed he hasn't moved on. He's 25 now though, we are probably as big a step up as he will be able to take at this age. Got double figures for goals and assists last season for them, exactly what we need. Another one to keep an eye on in a similar vein is Callum O'Hare at Coventry.
