Switching to vegan for a picky eater.

If you expand your first sentence to ‘saving animals from an untimely and often painful death, usually proceeded by a horrifically stressful journey’, then you are getting closer. Those who are vegan for moral reasons fully accept we won’t have sheep (other than wool producers), cows and pigs in the countryside. A small price to pay.
As long as there are meat eaters animals will be killed but the more vegetarians there are the less the numbers of animals being bred for killing. There will always be meat eaters it's not nice but it is natural.

Eventually the thread took the turn it was bound to take

Let’s present a case where rearing, abusing and killing a living thing just to satisfy our thirst for dead animals to eat, by the so called intelligent species, is a good thing.

I think most of the sauce is coming from the vegans. I think it's great that people are able to give up eating meat. It's fantastic for the planet. It's not something I'll ever do as I really enjoy my food and don't care about animals that much.

Not sure why that is relevant to the vegan community. Hospitals are full of non vegans who adopt a non vegan diet which they haven’t adapted to.

Ref OP - I’d take the view that if you want to do it for whatever reason just pile in. You will find a way.
If you really have a problem with vegetables tho - you may want to re think.
Complete non sequitur

I seriously doubt anybody, as in not a single human being has been hospitalized because they happen to not follow vegan diets

So please state your evidence, the hospitals are 'full' as you stated, so provide this data as no doubt it must be overwhelming if it is filling up hospitals
