Can you still pay to swim at a baths on Teesside - or do you have to join Everyone Active?
I used to swim at Thornaby every now and then on a lunchtime.

We just pay at the desk at Redcar Baths. You still need to join Everyone Active and have an account but that doesn't cost anything.

I am a member. But just gym member.
You can use that account and just pay as you go. Just turn up with your card and pay at the desk.

Although I'm pretty sure even if you only swim twice a month it's cheaper just to amend your membership to include the swimming.

Perfectly good river for free.
I remember swimming the Tees at Yarm many years ago - didn't seem such a great idea when struggling with the current half way across, nor when I finally came ashore into the mouth of what looked like a discharge pipe.

Got me reminiscing about Berwick Hills baths in the 70s. Walking from Easterside over the railway bridge. The coloured wrist bands and flashing lights telling you your time was up 😍
I can remember the main pool being evacuated because a kid had an accident.
The offending debris was removed and we all jumped back in.
Happy days!

I went to Dolphin centre Darlo a lot as a kid, you can pay in there and swim during the week just looked it up.

Dolphin Centre pool re-opens next week after about a year. So probably best to wait until then... 😜
