Super Bowl LV

Well I was wrong there. Really wanted Tampa to win but thought the Chiefs would roll straight over them.
Brady and the offence were superb but Tampas defence was awesome.

usually a spectacle however just one of the dullest games I've seen...
fortunately I was able to FF past halftime show.. Weeknd apparently.. should have been introduced by Anne Robinson..

Not taking the p, genuine question: For how many minutes was there actual play?
Game is 60 mins long . This usually takes around 3 hrs as there are breaks at each quarter and the clock stops when the ball is out of play/fouls are called or time outs are called and when points have been scored etc .

Poorest Superbowl in a few years.

Can’t remember a team playing as poorly as the Chiefs in a big game for a long time.

Mahomes was under pressure 43% of his plays (Brady 10%) Mahomes ran nearly 500 yards between snapping and throwing the ball.

Just crazy numbers.

So did they say how long the ball was actually in play?

I ask because the average over the last few years is 11 minutes actual play out if a 60 minute game and a three hour programme. Wonder how it compares to British football.

They never say how long the ball is in play. The clock only stops if there is an incomplete pass or run out of bounds so 60 minute games normally take 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

I know the fact it takes so long is an issue for a lot of people (it’s always worse in a Superbowl because of the Halftime show) but if you like the game it’s not an issue.

I thought the game went fairly quickly.

I remember the earliest days of the North American “Saccer” League in the 1970s, their half times used to have groups, like The Carpenters, playing an hour set! Wonder if that could ever happen over here.

Be interesting to know how much ticket prices are in the US for sports like American Football, Soccer, Ice Hockey and Baseball and compare them to over here. Interesting stuff.

I'm not a big fan of all the lapses in play on tv. I went to see Washington play Cincinnati and it went past very quickly. In all the breaks they had entertainers on the field and people firing t shirts into the crowd. I really enjoyed it.
