Will the mackems do there not so fierce rivals 😂 a favour on Wednesday night? Can’t wait to get the riverside tomorrow but have the same anticipation for Wednesday night too.It’s going to be a massive week. Bring it on!

I think we will see a 1-1 draw which would be great

Same here. That will be a massive statement of intent and they will have to stew on that for a fortnight. Perfect, let’s hope it goes the way they we think it will.

Imagine if Blackburn beat them in the cup too. They would be in turmoil. Although, think them staying in the competition is better for us for fixture pile up
 
Sunderland are only 5 points off the play offs, so they'll definitely be going for the win.

Lets hope they can do it.

Sheff Utd really are in free fall at the moment.

A quick look on their forum, and the replies to their Twitter account, and you'll see all their fans bedwetting.

They really are choking. Let s hope we can take advantage.

Yep a Sheff Utd win in the cup moves their game Away to Huddersfield to the 2nd last match, meaning they have 2 Away games to close the season out

Loads of twists still to play out

Love the fact the Sheff Wed fan pulled them up on it. Strange for them to get worked up over a Boro fan simply asking whether they could do us a favour Wednesday night.

I'm surprised any of them actually replied at all, considering how little they care about us.
 
They're a strange bunch, some of them.

Some claiming they'd be in the top 2 if Stewart was fit all season.

You've got to laugh.

I must admit, I post on there occasionally.

I posted on there when we beat them at the Riverside and they got themselves that worked up the thread got pulled.

The irony is, if it hadn't been pulled somebody could have hoofed if after they'd beaten us. I'd have been left with egg on my face but in the end it worked out well for me that it did get pulled 🤣
 
Sheffield United have been that bad lately that I genuinely think Sunderland can get something.

They've not played well in months.

I just hope we've done our job first.

I remember going to Bolton away under our promotion season with Karanka and this nearly happened. Bolton already gone, and they went 1-0 up.

Thankfully, Rhodes pulled us out the sh!te with a brace late on!

What an amazing away day that was.

Unbelievable, I was on a stag do in zagreb and couldnt find a pub to watch it in! Ended up watching it on someone's phone crowded round a table in some pub type garden!

This day will always be one of my favourite ever away days. Literally have goosebumps thinking back to that Rhodes winner and the celebrations after. Superb!

I don't see them making it tbh. They have to overtake 4 teams to make it in. Closing a 5 point gap on 1 team is doable; closing a 5 point gap over several teams is much harder as one or two of them will win every week.

As for SU, I get the impression they were in the sort of mindset we were in under Tony Pulis. Performances are tolerable so long as you win. IF you don't win, everything suddenly looks awful.
