Sunderland ticket info due this* week

How badly do we reckon Sunderland City Council’s Regulatory Committee will screw us over?

We’ve had our allocations cut in the past, last time we went there we got our 3k allocation cut to 2,750 due to “persistent standing” (like pretty much every club doesn’t stand at away games).

They’ve been issuing away teams this season an initial allocation of 1,950. Coventry’s initial was cut to 1,500 because “It was noted at the fixtures held during the 2018/2019 football season that the behaviour of the visiting fans from Coventry City FC and Portsmouth FC caused the public safety of the attendees of the match to be compromised.”

Not sure if @rob_fmttm has heard anything on our discussions with them?

Then there’s the priority points, sounds like a lot of people will be disappointed when they realise they won’t get a sniff of a ticket. Already had one gold card holder who doesn’t go to any away games claim he’ll be “very annoyed” if he doesn’t get a ticket. Chatting to other fans on Boxing Day people with 1-2 away games or borrowing season tickets from grandparents who don’t go to games were confident of getting a ticket.

I’d estimate if you haven’t done all the home cup games and been to at least 12 away games since the start of last season you’ve got very little chance.

This will be the first major test of the priority point system, Man Utd was a massive allocation and this season it’s not gone on general sale vs Burnley.

This could be a perfect storm of a cut allocation and high points required that will leave many fans missing out.

it will have to be at least 180, anything 140 or less is crazy and a free for all as that's anyone who's had a season card for the last 2 seasons

Do you think 200 will be enough? I have 201 and my 3 kids all have 187 so hoping we will all be in the top bracket!?
I think it will be (though I’m only guessing).

Burnley was 170 points, so I think it’s safe to assume we aren’t going backwards on the points tally.

I think they’ll make it 190+

Though you’ve touched on another point that I was going to make but my OP was far too long, this could be a headache for groups.

I’m on 200+ points but my mates are on anything between 180 - 199.

If I got in the top bracket I’m not sure I’m going to feel confident about waiting for the next points bracket to sit with them 😬

It looked like for Blackburn the bottom rows of the away end (upper tier) were empty the other day. This is because of away fans throwing stuff on home fans below. They could get round this like Sheff Utd and put netting over. Or do the decent thing and put away fans lower down. I'm sure there was talk of making it a rule for away fans not to be put so far away. Newcastle and Sunderland away ends are both terrible.

So I reckon 2.5k which I guess is about what they had at the Riverside.

Initial is normally 1,955 then you should probably get P28 and P26 which is an extra 750 so around 2700 would be my guess
You wont get the 1st 5 rows due to the missile issue , although personally I think thats daft as the missiles normally come from further back anyway.
I would expect we will be opening the concourse for this one , probably as far as the corner. Should be 42-43000 really . Maybe less due to the kick off time and on the telly.

Thanks for the info 👍

Would be very happy with a 2,700 allocation

I fancy going but think my Dad is a bit wary. I've got a ST but don't attend away games so not even sure where I am with regards to points.

Unlikely you'll get one without additonal points from away/cup games which is the only fair system and better than a sold out in 15 minutes free for all

Surely 200 starting point.
That’s the idea of having a loyalty scheme isn’t it?
People might disagree but I wouldn’t set it that high. It’s tricky to figure out as there’s no transparency from the club as to how many fans have each tier of points.

To get 190+, assuming they’ve had a ST for 2 seasons & been to all cup home games since the start of last season they’ll have had to have been to:

Gold card - 11 away games
Chairman’s drink - 16 away games
Regular season card - 21 away games

Thats some going.

The difference between 190 and 200 points will often be the 10 points from gold card status.

I’d say anyone who has been to 16 away games since the start of season is a “loyal” fan and deserves a chance of a ticket, certainly those on 21 games!

I think it will start at 190.
I have 206 this season so should be ok, but I feel for loyal fans who will miss out.
