How badly do we reckon Sunderland City Council’s Regulatory Committee will screw us over?
We’ve had our allocations cut in the past, last time we went there we got our 3k allocation cut to 2,750 due to “persistent standing” (like pretty much every club doesn’t stand at away games).
They’ve been issuing away teams this season an initial allocation of 1,950. Coventry’s initial was cut to 1,500 because “It was noted at the fixtures held during the 2018/2019 football season that the behaviour of the visiting fans from Coventry City FC and Portsmouth FC caused the public safety of the attendees of the match to be compromised.”
Not sure if @rob_fmttm has heard anything on our discussions with them?
Then there’s the priority points, sounds like a lot of people will be disappointed when they realise they won’t get a sniff of a ticket. Already had one gold card holder who doesn’t go to any away games claim he’ll be “very annoyed” if he doesn’t get a ticket. Chatting to other fans on Boxing Day people with 1-2 away games or borrowing season tickets from grandparents who don’t go to games were confident of getting a ticket.
I’d estimate if you haven’t done all the home cup games and been to at least 12 away games since the start of last season you’ve got very little chance.
This will be the first major test of the priority point system, Man Utd was a massive allocation and this season it’s not gone on general sale vs Burnley.
This could be a perfect storm of a cut allocation and high points required that will leave many fans missing out.
