James Morrison, Chris Brunt, Robert Huth, Patrick Bamford, Marcus Tavernier, Chuba Akpom.. ah well
onwards and upwards!
It’s a brave new world!I'd have liked to have kept Chuba too.
However, his sale paid for last year's signings, including Rogers
Rogers' sale has paid for this Summer's signings.
I have to think we made the right call, rather than keep him for another year.
Traore another! There’s a few players that I’d have liked for us to have kept and Stuani is one of them.

We would have fared very well, I am sure. Much better than we did without him. I know the excuse was always "oh, but he finds that space coming in from the wide position, it would be different if he was starting as the striker", but his finishing was far better than those who were missing them up front for us at the time, and when he DID play up front, for us or for anyone else, he showed he certainly could score as a striker.38 in October and scored for Girona v Bournemouth in a friendly yesterday. Does make you wonder how we'd have fared with him as a striker
Jones scored more goals from wide last year than Stuani did (Stuani scored 5 of his 11 goals playing as a striker) so it's also overstated how effective he was coming in from that wide position. We would have fared very well, I am sure. Seems like another of the classic Boro "if only " moments ...including picking Gestede over Bamford, Marco Branca's injury, various cup pivotal moments....
