Stop playing Giles as a left back

Giles’ crosses are good but he has zero variation on them and needs to work on getting to the byline and find a way to either cross from there or cut them back — kind of simple. I really don’t understand or scouting mind you as this was a known issue with him last season. Can’t dribble, frail personality I’d have to say based on his performances.

Most wingers these days really do have skills on both feet so I’m wondering what seems to be his problem in not practicing with his right foot. Some coaches or managers force their wingers to switch to the opposite wing so that they can force home the requirement of playing on your weaker foot. I definitely push this home with Giles otherwise he’s not going to last long in the game.
 
Agree with others. Bola left back. Giles ahead of him.

Let them try and develop a partnership similar to Adomah and Nsue or Andrew Taylor and Joe Bennett.

Same for Dijksteel and Jones, they linked up well when Wilder first arrived, we know they can do it.
 
when we signed him there were some quotes in the gazette from Mowbray regarding Giles time at Blackburn, basically saying he was talented but needed to assert himself more and have that desire to impact the game. I think we're pretty much seeing that, he has a brilliant cross on him, but doesn't have that desire either defensively or in terms of demanding the ball.

He's probably best suited to wingback if he can improve his intensity, i'm not convinced he'd fit as a right midfielder/winger, but it's worth a try.
