Steel heritage sign designed by kids 'too political'

How mad is this? Two signs that were to be erected outside one of the entrances near Teesworks have now been blocked due to being "too political." I wonder which clown put a block to this and how his airport is going.

'Cllr Brown, who represents the Dormanstown ward, said: “One of the locations would have been that roundabout, but a council officer told me somebody thought it was too political, they did not tell me who.

If they won't tell you then go ahead and install them till the yellow belly comes out from under their rock.

Can anyone explain the political aspect to this, sorry if I'm missing something obvious but I just cannot see what the issue is.

seek forgiveness rather than permission

I'm with you here. Unless the politics is remarkably well hidden, I am missing it entirely.

I've mentioned above that it is all about the Dorman Tower and has nothing to do with anything political. Houchen is like a spoilt kid who must get his own way. He pulled strings (Dorres) to get the tower pulled down and removed the heritage legal protection it was issued to save it.

I remember that now you mention it.

The signs aren't trumpeting one party over another, ie political with a capital P, but the subject matter could be considered to be political "with a small p".

Whether that is too political or not is a matter of opinion, & it seems like a council official/leader is being risk averse.
