Starmer flying from London to Edinburgh

I’m quickly running out of words to describe how inept this man is.

There are so many industries shut down by Covid that he could have highlighted, on the way he could have took the train from Kings Cross to Edinburgh and highlighted the need for more investment in public transport to tackle economic disparity and climate change, or talked about how the east coast mainline was the best performing railway in the country following it’s return to public ownership.

But instead he takes a virtually empty short haul flight, whilst wanting to be taken seriously on Climate Change.

The man is a joke.

Engineering works out side Newark

some body re arranged the letters at Newark station to spell W A N K E

you get the idea with that

FFS You seem intent on targeting the man for anything and everything. if only you could channel your anger at those who really deserve it
The problem with channelling anger at the Tories is that it does nothing.

The people that put themselves forwards as the force for change need to be held to account by the people they expect to put them into power. Otherwise, what's the point?

Just out of interest, is it the Tory Party who send you this irrelevant nonsense to try to make a big issue out of on a football message board?

So he gets a short flight and gets slaughtered.... Yet de fefel kills 130000 and is totally corrupt and not a word...

Why is it that when people highlight Starmer’s incompetence, that the people who defend him want to instantly flip it to Johnson’s incompetence?

Johnson is terrible, I know.

Party politics is one of the main reasons our political system is in such a terrible state, people are incapable of critical thinking and instead treat politics as a football match where you have to cheer your team (red or blue), applaud everything your side do and boo everything the opposition do.

Pog you're an idiot, or I am for responding, not sure which is which.

So you think taking an almost empty internal flight is a great way of demonstrating that “there is no issue more important to our future than the climate emergency”?

Wow, and you’re calling me the idiot?

Would the flight have taken place if he wasn't on it?

Starmer is one of those who really deserve it. I know that that's an unpopular opinion on here but the bloke is just a Tory and I'm old fashioned and would much prefer to have a socialist in charge of the labour party.

Thats a fair comment but a problem with the Labour Party going forward is how to appeal to a broad base sufficient to kick these crooks out of Government. I fear that internal disagreement on how to mount that opposition is going to give this lot a free ride for years.

I don’t know, but either way that’s not really the point.

As an example - You wouldn’t take someone who pledged to fight against the fur trade who then went and bought a fur coat seriously would you?

“Was the coat made already or was it made to order?” wouldn’t really wash would it?

Or come to think of it, you wouldn’t take a politician who was pushing for everyone to drive electric cars who didn’t actually have one himself seriously - Ed Miliband.

Just seems a bit much to me that the self styled 'centrists' are all now telling those of us on the left that we need to just shut up and support Starmer in the name of party unity when it was those exact same people who did everything they could to smear Corbyn and sabotage the last election from within.
