On telly again. Didn’t realise we had so many creepy crawlies. Never heard of a Pseudoscorpion before. Hitching a lift on a bluebottle fly! Always feel itchy though after watching.

Interesting last night about the decline of the swift, studies found a 78% reduction in airborne insects in last 20 years following number plate insect splat studies.

It's more to do with the crap that's polluting our rivers. Which is either from sewage outlets or farming pesticides.
 
On holiday last week in the West of Scotland. Heard my first cuckoo since God's knows when. Must be 10 years or so since I heard that harbinger of spring.

We get them every year down here in East Anglia. As soon as the dog hear one, he's starts barking like mad....
 
Intriguing to hear the figures last night compared to 10 years ago, in particular the number of trips that parent birds are making in/out of the nest each day.

Not typically an avid watcher (Gardener's World on the other hand....) but I enjoyed last nights episode.
