After an enjoyable sports day comes the big moment, the headteacher asks Dads to step up for the parents race. Keen to impress my son, i step forward and make my way to the start line. I know a couple of the Dad's and know they are very good runners so keen to get a good start and try and keep up with them.
Off we go and to my amazement i am keeping up with the two fast lads, about 25 metres left and i start to believe i could win this, i start to imagine the celebrations - My son shouting thats my Dad...My partner remembering why she loves me, the other mums begin to swoon over me......
Then all of a sudden Bang, it all falls apart as i start to stumble forward as i try to run faster than my legs are capable of and fall face first to the floor about 1 metre from the finish. Ribs hurting, laughter from the crowds, look of disappointment from son and all caught on camera.
