Sporar

Why didn't he just try Coburn and Balogun? Sporar is just biding his time before his loan deal comes to an end and he'll leave. Why is Wilder expecting him to bust a gut for the cause, because that's what we need at this stage of the season.

Sporar should be 5th choice striker.
 
Sporar started with a bang at Forest, but its been all downhill since then. Seems like his interest seeped away the longer he was here. Cant imagine there is a cat in hells chance of him being here next season.
 
He’s been absolutely ***** for a while now. Disappointing cos I used to rate him. Sporar got to be fifth choice for me

Yeah wasn't that the time where Watmore played the ball in behind, believing Sporar would have made the run and he was just stood there.

I think balogun and Connolly loans have put his nose out of joint.

But yes completely dialling it in isn’t he.
 
Sporars early season success was down to his movement, getting into the right place at the right time. His overall contribution was never that great though, certainly not capable of holding a ball up, winning anything in the air or a 50/50 ball.

Now he doesn't even run into the positions from where he used to score. Might as well send him back now and let Coburn a run.
 
I think it’s been bad man management to be honest. Think back to the Forest and Blackpool matches. He reacted like he’d hit the winner in the cup final when he scored at a Blackpool. He was a cult hero. His song was the anthem of the season, he seemed to love it here. Then the loanees come in and he’s finding it difficult to get in the team. By mid Feb it was clear we wouldn’t be keeping him next season. No longer first choice. The love in both directions gone and he looks like he’s just waiting to go now. Such a shame.

I don’t think he was ever quiet as good as people would like him to have been.

He is a complete non entity now though.
 
There are plenty of threads telling us how bad Connolly is, please can we just keep this one focussing how utterly useless Sporar is?

I agree, the service is very poor, but movement is also poor. Watmore should never start. Needs to be on when the other side’s energy fades. Sporar isn’t a finisher and whenever he is called upon for link up play, his passes are poor. Balogun would do well in a team that has people on a ‘give-go’ wavelength, but is not a fit for Middlesbrough. Connolly isn’t a striker, full stop. Coburn can finish, but we haven’t seen enough of him yet to draw any conclusions.

We laud McNair and Howson, but they predominantly go sideways. Same for Tavernier. No-one takes responsibility. McGree wants to, and is always showing for the ball, but is either ignored completely, or passed to 3 seconds too late. Give him a kindred spirit in the middle and strikers who make runs, and I think he would prove to be a real find.

The obsession of playing everything through Jones, as decent as he is, is not a sustainable blueprint and must be very frustrating for McGree.

Hopefully, Wilder stays and proves that he can actually pick a striker. Get a new keeper, a left sided counter balance for Jones (because Bola isn’t it), offload Crooks (discipline is poor and he hasn’t looked interested for a while).

Promotion next season.
 
Connolly, Sporar two very good Sunday league players. Who somebody in our recruitment team thought would improves us. Need to go to spec savers.
 
Hes the classic "luxury player".
Technically very good and on his day - unstoppable.
But hes more often off than on.
Hes inconsistent and too expensive - to be on the pitch and in our pocket.
Hopefully he will find pastures new at the end of the season.

We know he`s Slovenian
but he has to be here for a reason.......
