Spin/exercise bike

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations for a decent spin bike, don't really want to break the bank with it so looking at something for under £200 if possible. I keep reading reviews online and cannot decided on what to get.

You have a couple of options

Sir in my lockdown I bought a bodymax one and bought a tablet holder and a power meter for the pedals and I used to use the peleton app, it was a good low cost solution. It did the job

Money will go a lot further used

More expensive swift compatible ones will have better features but cost a lot more than £200

Other option if you have a bike already is to get a turbo trainer

resist the temptation and do not buy a cheap one. Quality is important when riding a fixed bike. I would look at an atom Wattbike which are expensive brand-new but you can pick them up for half price or less on eBay secondhand.

Mine is an excellent place to hang clothes that have only been worn once…such as shorts and such…don’t want to wash them after only one use right?

It also doubles as a place I can put my towel temporarily after drying myself after a shower.

Paid close to a grand for it. Bargain.

Peloton bikes, and the like

I have recently found it difficult to make time for the gym (which isn't that close to my house), and not been going spinning etc like I used to. Considering cancelling my membership when it runs out in the new year. Anyone have any experience of the above? I am aware there was a big thread...

I've got one similar to that. I use it for about 10/15 minutes to cool down after a run and it's ok for that, but I don't think it'd be comfortable enough for half an hour a few days a week like one you'd use at a gym.

I've had a Wattbike Icon for 5 years now and it's still as good as the day I bought it. It's more for the gym environment but bought in the the sale as lockdown started. It's the one piece of exercise equipment that has really stuck with me over the time. Use it alongside Trainerroad.

Thanks for your advice all..I have seen. A bodymax one mentioned in another post.. seen this one online. Reduced from £699.00.. seems a little too good to be true?.

Took the plunge and went for the one above, read reviews online and all rated it. The lowest price I could get it for one was £499 away from this site. Fingers crossed I stay motivated and it doesn't turn into a clothes horse
