Spence

I really like Hall and thought he looked good. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the team though unless one of the back 3 gets injured. I like Fry in the centre and wouldn’t move Dijksteel or McNair anyway at the moment as they look brilliant. I think Halls best chance of a return to the line up if we ever go 4 at the back.
 
He might not get straight back in, but the chances are other teams will try and expose our weaknesses at wing back, and that is where Dijksteel to RWB might happen. It's not like we defended poorly with Hall at CB, we did pretty well in fact and looked fairly solid. The difference is, he didn't have Morsy in front shielding, Hall will do better with Morsy protecting and mopping up

When Spence broke into the team last year he said in an interview he had to learn the attacking side of the game as he had always been just a full back. Despite his pace I think you can tell. He is not confident trying to get past his opposite number and his crossing needs a lot of improvement. I don't think he has let us down at all.

When you scout players you look at the technical/tactical, physical, psychological and social elements.

For me he is a player who relies on the physical side too much. He has good pace, great balance, moderate strength. He is physically capable of being a top champ player already. It's the other quadrants that he seems to struggle.

Technical and tactical. His technique for on the attacking side is ok at best, he really needs to work on his crossing and one-on-one dribbling to make a yard of space for the cross. Defensively his technique for a fullback has a key flaw, his positioning he is always too far away from the winger to stop the cross, even when he has time to close down he doesn't get close enough.

Psychologically, we can see his confidence has drained from an attacking sense. Don't know much about him socially seems a very quiet lad, needs to find his personality and show it on the pitch a little more.
