Spanish GP moving to Madrid

Yes it’s looking like that is where liberty are heading.

“This means in 2026 there will likely be at least nine non-permanent circuits in an F1 season, which would be almost a third of races if the calendar stays at 24 rounds.

That is a large increase from 10 years ago when there were just four temporary circuits - Australia, Monaco, Canada and Singapore - on the 2014 calendar. “

Temp street circuits also open up new markets like a NYC prix as formula E have shown. They have stated among their reasons is ease of access and transport links to pull away from Barcelona.

But what that means for other out of the way purpose tracks like Suzuka silverstone and even monza etc looks less clear

What a crap idea. Spain already had a street circuit for some years when the (unlamented) European GP was run at Valencia. Dire from start to processional finish.

Valencia was horrendous. I know Monaco has mixed opinions, but I certainly wouldn't miss it if it was removed from the calendar. Feels like a waste of a weekend. Some like the history and the glamour, but i want to see racing, and Monaco, like alot of street circuits, totally removes that from the sport.
Barcelona at least has a fair bit of racing going on. Would be good to get the cars all on a similar performance level, scrap the street circuits and bring the entertainment back.

Monaco is going no where it’s F1 Indy 500 there’s no way liberty mess with that it’s F1s USP same too monza no way Ferrari would let the Italian GP go

so that just leaves the rest.
