With rumours that the lock down might be tighter as well starting from tomorrow. We may find out more tomorrow.Still not sure Boris has got to grips with it yet
Boris is way behind and he's putting us at risk.
Very good point.I find it interesting (probably the wrong word) is that here in Spain, and from what I can see France and Italy, the lockdown was imposed, people understood the need, and it's pretty much being adhered to.
In the UK, nothing has been imposed, and people are ignoring advice - why ? Brits can't be "that" different from Spaniards, French, and Italians in terms of understanding the potential consequences of this can they ?
Agreed. I have been saying this since around 10 days ago. When the autonomous regions of Spain started the lock down process. A few days in advance of when the central government edict came into force.Just watching Boris' news conference
Yet again it's all "urges", "recommends", "suggests", "please don't ..." - the language is all wrong
No your wrong, people are putting themselves at risk by not listening.Boris is way behind and he's putting us at risk.
Oh yes you can. He is the one who is setting out the policy that is supposed to be protecting the country. He has failed miserably. No your wrong, people are putting themselves at risk by not listening.
He just said, if people aren't prepared to do it sensibly then they are going to have go step in with tougher measures.
You cant blame Boris if you cant responsibility for your own actions.
In hindsight he should have closed down the country.Oh yes you can. He is the one who is setting out the policy that is supposed to be protecting the country. He has failed miserably.
As I have said on other posts. By now he should have built a cross party working group to set policy. So the finger cannot be pointed at people for political party reasons. He has not done this. Then he has failed to provide strong leadership. In the longer term this is likely to cause more deaths. Every avoidable death is a bad thing. Particularly for the family and friends involved.

The only problem with that response is that it is very likely that they are not the ones that will be wiped out. They will be causing other people to die. Boris should have realised this and should be doing something positive to sort it out.I think the way that Boris is handling it is quite good, even though I have nothing to compare this to.
I also think that a lot of the general public are ignoring Boris and going about there normal day to day business, because;
A) We're British and we soldier on in the face of adversity.
B) We dont believe a thing that the government tells us due to conditioning from previous governments.
C) Boris is an imbecile and people are choosing to ignore him.
Only the insane are ignoring the warnings, and if they cannot see what is happening in other countries without realising the same is going to happen to us then I hope that COVID-19 wipes them out.
Just for the record, The only time I have left the house is to go to work since last Monday and I will continue to have little social interaction with others until I have been told that it is safe to do so!
This the rhetoric that is coming down the line in 12-18 months time. ‘It was the people fault we asked them nicely to stay inside’No your wrong, people are putting themselves at risk by not listening.

I've done the garden today and stayed home (same as I have for many days) so don't count me in with these knobheads..
That said what's the lockdown doing to vulnerable people in Spain, Italy and France? What about suicide rates and loneliness? They don't count anymore I guess.
How long should we lockdown for? Why do we keep listing Italy's death tally when their scientific advisor stated that the way they calculate numbers is totally different to elsewhere and are actually overstating the numbers?
Why are we now allowing coronavirus deaths to no longer need any form of inquest in this country?
Questions.. just questions.
