South Korea bans Dog Meat trade!

I have, my partner also grew up on a cattle farm that her family still owns in Scotland, I love spending time with cattle when up there especially the young moo's they are great to be around.

Again it is not intelligence, it is not how cute they are, the relationship is just different.

To try and explain it another way.

We domesticated pigs/cos/chickens and we chose to make them a source of food ... going back 1000s of years.

Wolves we domesticated and we chose to selectively breed them to be companions/protectors/pets, this in turn allowed us to hunt more because your offspring would have protection back in your cave, farm better because your dog could help you herd the animals and so on. Our evolution is symbiotic, we literally created them as companions and aides, this for me makes this not a hypocritical stance to take.
All together now You'll never beat JonnyHistory :ROFLMAO:

I din’t think anyone agrees with you
Doesn’t make you wrong - the world could be flat and God might exist

Perhaps in Korea dogs have not been selectively bred over the years to be companions, but bred for meat just like cows, pigs etc

I did hear today that the dog meat trade is particularly barbaric, I was told that for dog meat to be more tender and taste “higher quality” the dogs need to be exposed to extreme stress and high adrenaline prior to being slaughtered. Like being beaten in sacks.

This was purely anecdotal but a quick google seems to suggest it happens, maybe it’s not a widespread practice but regardless it sounds truly horrific.

This has ****ed up and put it in a quote box and cba to fix it 😂
I believe it's a specific breed that is used for it, no one is eating golden retrievers

It's also something generally done in the sticks

Incidentally, horse steak is amazing.

I can think of far worse things in Asia, like Balut or virgin boy eggs.

I think that's one of those urban myths. You don't get pigs on Britains Got Talent jumping through hoops, dancing and looking cute
Pigs are more intelligent than dogs and solve far more complex problems than a dog is able to.

Studies suggest they are equivalent of a 3 year old child. About on par with the larger parrots.
