Some really good football played

Excellent all over, thought the subs ruined the attacking momentum, in particular when Jones went off.

Watmore didn’t have a great game, but it is his first one back, his understanding with Tav is very good. Tav was quality today, which he always seems to be when Watmore is around him, coincidence?

I think I watch different games to some people sometimes. I thought we played some really good football and bossed most of the game. Tav, Howson and Jones were great today. Another decent centre forward and winger and we could give it a good go this season. Guy behind me at the end of the game stood up and said 'I'm not clapping that sh#t'

We didn't concede possession as usual and didn't play long and high from the keeper, put together some good moves and good wide play, it all made for a refreshing change, I wonder how we will approach the next match though?

There is a very useful team within the squad with the right approach and tactics and I hope NW would stop playing down what we have.

Clever to play possession football and not our usual long-ball game, especially considering they had Ayala at the back.

Some of the interplay between Tav and Watmore was promising and think they'll be effective playing together when Watmore is fully fit.

I’m afraid to say some of our fans are totally clueless. Bloke on Tees saying we’re going to be in a relegation fight and another saying how poor we were today.
They either don’t go to games or have a strange conception about football. Five games in and the doom merchants are out. At least wait till the transfer window is closed and see how the squad looks then.

I mostly agree but I thought our delivery in from wide areas, corners and free kicks was woeful. All that good play and possession and yet not many chances to show for it.
The midfield were better but now Morsey is on a 3 match ban and he was the difference from the QPR game.

Still, an enjoyable game but we're some way off a play off place.

Yes, we did play much better than the last home game but couldn't help thinking where was the big unit in the middle. A target for those under hit and over hit crosses might just spice things up. Why have a striker on the bench and not play him. especially when we dominated lots of the play today. They didn't have much of a threat , had a spell of 10 minutes in second half where they threatened, but were well tackled most of the time. I'm being entertained this season.

Thought we were excellent today, if Ikpeazu is on that pitch we win the game.
Howson was excellent, Jones, Tav, Dijksteel and the back line were great.
3/4 before Tuesday and I'll be happy as hell. We've only lost one game this season don't forget that (we should have won it to) we just need that extra help to turn these draws into wins!
Hernandez, Sporar, Left Back, Siliki (if we can) and a third striker would be excellent

It was such a shame that the last 15 minutes fizzled away with the fouls, cards and referee intervention. I really thought we had a winner in us.

Not sure if Ikpeazu was the man for today: him and Ayala would have ended up in a wrestling match with some football going on in the background.

Some of the play today, when we moved quickly and with pressure, was very promising. Moving it through the middle and down the sides... imagine that a couple of years ago under Pulis!

No. Neil Warnock’s teams are long throws, long balls and can’t play “proper football”! Unless you go to the Riverside of course. That back heel from Crooks to Jones in the first half was class. Wait till Sporar starts scoring. You only get recognition when you are winning.

Agree with this 100%

I think some fans are just never satisfied. They watch much better teams on Sky Sports every week and think that’s the standard we should be playing at.

I’m happy with how the squad is coming along and that everybody seems to be willing to put maximum effort in. That hasn’t been the case for a few seasons now.

Decent performance for me, big disappointment this season was our second half v QPR, appart from that we look a decent side, play off possibles?!

If I end up listening to the commentary (which I did for most of today) I make a point of switching straight off when the game finishes.

The phone in is inhabited by numpties. It just winds me up when the first halfwit comes on and tell me that we are worse than shight.

Life's too short , fkkoff numpties

The trouble is with Ikpeazu on the pitch we probably won’t play the same style of football. I’ve said a few times and especially last season Boro under NW play far better football when it’s forced upon him through injury etc, it’s as if he stubbornly refuses to believe his own eyes and can’t adapt his philosophy.
