Some Much Needed Rain Heading to Teesside in a Few Hours

According to the Met Office that is. Might be some thunderstorms mixed in as well. The grass in the fields around us is virtually yellow. Can’t remember the last time it rained.

Some areas may get half a months rainfall in a few hours.

Its started raining here in Dorset and its muggy as hell. Looks like its moving northward.

My pea pods in the garden are thankful for the rain.

Been wazzin it down here, but has abated - for now. Grey and muggy. Wont have to water hanging baskets (y)

We've still had nothing in Normanby and have reverted back to my watering system.

The trouble is, when it does rain and in the amount forecast, it could cause localised flooding.

Intense downpour for about 10 minutes only, so far.
Not enough for the garden.
The gardener will have to get the hose out again at this rate.

Just walked dog in Billingham as rain almost stopped.
Rain started getting heavier again just as we turned back into our street.
Heard a bit of thunder 90minutes ago but nothing spectacular to report so far.......

Had to drive to Newcastle Airport through the worst of it last night. Bit scary hitting standing water on the motorway at 60. Slowed down to 50 as did most people. Had eased off on the way back and was able to do 70 the standing water had gone. Forecast of a chance of a thunderstorm this arvo. I love a good thunderstorm.
