Solicitor recommendation please

About to put my house on the market and buy another so would like ro know who to use. Thanx for any advice offered guys. Btw i live in boro
 
I used Merritts in Yarm for both sale and purchase. They were absolutely spot on throughout and really pushed for an early completion date for us. Whole process from viewing to completion on the sale was 6 weeks.

Merritts are terrible. Avoid at all costs
 
Jacksons over near Macro have always been decent for me, but used Punch Robson a while back who were good too.
 
Another shout for Jacksons here.

We've used both Jacksons and Macks recently (last 6 months) and found Jacksons to be more efficient.

I've used Merritt's for the last couple of buy-to-lets, not again I have to say, I wasn't impressed at all.

I've been recommended Jackson's by an estate agent, so I'll try them next.

I think all sols are under pressure and overworked though, so it's a tough choice.
 
Ah well, I must have just got lucky with Merritts 🤷‍♂️ Used them on 2 purchases and 1 sale but I can only speak on my experiences and those around me who’ve had good ones. Good luck with the move.

I was about £1500 for both about a year ago.
 
thanks joey,when i asked the estate agent that theyd recommend using she said approx 4000 for both,was always going to get recommendations though,thanx again all
 
My experiences have only been good ones with Merritts, House sale, transfer of deeds, POA , wills advice etc
I guess it's who you deal with at Merritts. I was not charged for one particular interview and was told so, which I was amazed at really. During the start of lockdown they all worked from home and manage to push through everything to deal with my mothers estate and couldn't have been more efficient.

That sounds about right, i paid £800 just for sale.
