Solanke to West Ham £40 mill

Utter madness, he’s a great championship player but only an average premier league one, not worth anywhere near that, and he won’t improve them.

I slightly disagree. I'd say he's an average prem player, but better than the champo.

"Dom Solanke,
He used to be Scouse,
Now he's got a seaside house,
20 million down the drain,
Dom Solanke scores again..."

(would work better if he was more prolific)

They signed him for £19m 4 years ago, he's only 24, and he's got 3 years left on his contract.

Ask for more than he's worth, and you either get a big return on the fee or you keep a player you don't want to sell.

He got 6 goals in the league last year, that’s his best season in the premier league. I’d say it shows how poor West Ham recruitment is if they’ve had all summer to find a striker and are now overpaying for a player they’ll have already known about.

in his defence, he does play quite deep for us, dropping back into midfield. he's not a traditional front man. that said, he's not the most clinical striker when he does get chances. if he was, he wouldn't be at bournemouth. he won't go to west ham.

Totally agree, Newcastle have agreed a loan deal this season with Chelsea for 18 year old Lewis Hall, then buy next season £28m. The world’s gone mad
No doubt with a 35m but back clause.

FIFA/uefa should ban buy back clauses. If a club deems they don’t want a player they shouldn’t be able to hold him to ransoms to go back in future possibly against their will.
