Socialism

COB spambot. It’s kind of tragic really
Beat me to it.

Edit: We ought to just let this thread die though. The poor little fella is just craving attention. Don't give it to him lads. By replying you'll just be giving the sad little man what he wants.

I shouldn't bite really and I wouldn't consider myself a socialist. But can I ask a genuine question of the OP?

Do you think that we should make the country (we'll stick with just the country rather than world for now) more equitable?

Should citizens have equitable access to education and health for example?

Socialism.? You mean universal health care, education, policing, social care, benefits… should I go on…

the reason why pure socialism won’t work is because the rich elite don’t want it to work and plebes like you buy into their oppression…

We hated our slum in the "swinging" 1960s.
Rising damp.
Rotting old windows.
Mildew on the walls and on our clothes.
Only had a fire in the back room.
Three lads in one room.
No bathroom.
Outhouse.
Dolly tub.
Gas fridge.

But the rich had an Empire.
We built it.
But the working class stayed in the gutter.

They called the shots
and our lads fought and died in their wars.

And when we rose to claim our rights
They sent in the thugs to put out the lights

But organised we will always be strong
One for all and all for one.

Pure socialism is the stuff of fantasy and will never happen.
But what we have now and getting increasing more disgusting is the massive gulf between the obscenely rich and the poor.
But while Mr Middle Class has his fancy holidays, his iphone and his nice car lethargy reigns and nothing will ever change.
The Oxbridge political elite sees to it.

As my commie mum said. Socialism took a good turn the day Income Tax started. It was gaining inch by inch whilst we followed the early Methodists and Keynes, then Keith Joseph and Monetarism. Back two miles.
