I read the article earlier on. It says that 95% of days wearers have remained sober, so seems like it does work a bit.I didn’t even know they were a thing - and sobriety orders. I guess a lot of crime is created under the influence, I will be interested to see if this is a success or not

We have a parent who wears one due to his drinking impacting on his children.
Tommyrot. Numerous substances have been outright banned for years. And yet alcohol is freely available to anyone. Most violent crime is caused by alcohol. Stopping people from drinking rather than just sending them to prison is a positive step. Meanwhile we should be unbanning everything else.
I don't disagree with that.
I don't have an issue with taking the rights from people who are unwilling to conform. As said above, it must be better than sending them to prison.

Or ankle tags for all during the next Pandemic, so that behaviour can be modified for the benefit of the greater society. Then when the Pandemic is over the tags must be kept on to ensure crime levels remain low and so on.Vaccine ankle tags next.
It's voluntary, so not really. Can be a good thing to motivate people to pack in the beer and sort their life out. Can earn them shorter sentences too, which reduces the cost of imprisonment, so everyone can be a winner.
