A tactical genius, a true Premiership-class manager, and one of the greatest managers of all time, will have to slum it by visiting the likes of Middlesbrough, a sub-standard outfit who were too weak to match his ambitions. Boro may as well hand over the six points now.

On a slightly separate note, earlier I used the football manager in game editor to make wilder under 18s coach at Sheffield Wednesday on £1 a week and changed his man management stat and working with youngsters both to 1.

He'll be gone by then, he believes he's far better than the Championship
