Snooker

His comments the other day where he said that basically all other players on the tour were at best, amateur standard and he would have to lose an arm to get beat

'Most of them would do well as half-decent amateurs, or not even amateurs they're so bad a lot of them.
'A lot of them you see now, you think, cor, I've probably got to lose an arm and a leg to fall outside the top 50. So that's why we're hovering around - because of how poor it is down that end.'
He didn't say aĺl other players - he was talking about the fact there are no new players coming through.

There haven't been many tournaments won by people under 30 in recent years. Trump is over 30 now and he is still talked about as a Young player.

Most of the young players coming through are Chinese. Hardly any younguns play snooker nowadays as the Social Clubs are all closing down. Gone are the days when a Father used to take his son into the club for a game. We used to have the best indoor leagues in the Country in this area years ago and used to have a Boys Billiards League not so long ago which produced World Champions such as Mike Russell, Peter Gilchrist and Dave Causier.

Ronnie seems to over complicate things, looking for this “cue action”, the guys a natural and has been doing this for 40 years, now he’s picking at his cue action, guys an absolute weirdo

Incredible by the Rocket again today.

That early session today just killed any hopes Wilson had.

What a player Ronnie is!

It would be brilliant if he went on and matched Hendry's record of 7 world titles.

Always wondered why we are probably the best area in the world for producing billiard players theres never been a top class snooker player from teesside.

Yes the final didnt really live up to what had happened in the semis - that would have been hard to match to be fair. I just thought the guy was too nervous and made too many mistakes, he had a lot of chances to be fair but just couldn’t take them.

Agree Fatcat, he's obviously very talented Wilson, some shots he made were amazing. He just needs to take the emotion out of his game. I guess that comes with experience...
